In the latest episode of the Ampéritif Podcast, guest, Dan Davies and host, Mike Lauer, cheers and take the first sip of a cocktail inspired by Dan’s award-winning career in acting, writing and producing.
The creation of Dan’s cocktail includes a low sugar old fashioned option with a slightly spooky twist to fit with some of Dan’s work.
Combine all ingredients except the port in a mixing glass, add lots of ice and stir to combine everything and to add dilution. Pour cocktail in a rocks glass over lots of ice or over a large ice block. Add the tawny port. Finish the drink by expressing the oils from a lemon peel. You could also flame them for extra theatre by holding a lighter or a match close to the peel and expressing its oils through the flame.
Garnish with a lemon peel, orange slice, or cherries
