The Belle

A Cocktail Recipe

This cocktail from the Amperitif podcast was inspired by Episode 006 guest, Heather Arendt and the holidays, around which this episode was recorded. The podcast’s mixologist, Lulu, writes in a letter brimming with enthusiasm and creativity sharing her inspiration and the recipe for a drink that promises to be a hit at your next gathering.

“I created a cocktail that’s a refreshing crowd-pleaser,” Lulu writes, “and that can be enjoyed at any time of the day.” She explains that she kept the recipe simple, using easy-to-find ingredients to ensure that anyone can recreate this cocktail at home. But what sets this drink apart is its vibrant orange hue.

Drawing inspiration from the nostalgic aroma of gingerbread cookies, Lulu has crafted a flavor profile that evokes memories of cozy evenings by the fire and the joy of holiday baking. It’s a thoughtful touch that adds depth and warmth to each sip, making this cocktail a true delight for the taste buds.

But what if you’re looking for a non-alcoholic option? Fear not, for Lulu has thought of everything. She’s provided a version of the recipe that retains all the flavor and charm of the original, minus the vodka. “I kept the method the same,” she explains, “to keep things entertaining for everyone.” So whether you’re indulging in a spirited cocktail or opting for a booze-free alternative, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

The method itself is straightforward, ensuring that even novice mixologists can whip up a batch of these delightful drinks with ease. With just a few simple tools—a shaker, a strainer, and a jigger—and a handful of common ingredients, you’ll be well on your way to creating a holiday masterpiece.

And let’s not forget about the garnishes! Lulu offers a variety of playful options to add the perfect finishing touch to your cocktail. From slices of orange to candied ginger to custom-printed labels bearing your company logo, the possibilities are as endless as your imagination. It’s these small details that elevate a drink from ordinary to extraordinary, turning a simple libation into a work of art.

As you gather with colleagues, clients, and friends to celebrate the season, raise a glass to Lulu and her creative genius. With her help, you’ve crafted a cocktail that captures the essence of the holidays—a perfect blend of flavor, flair, and festive cheer.

So here’s to good company, to cherished traditions, and to the magic of the season. May your holidays be merry and bright, and may each sip of this delightful cocktail fill you with warmth and joy. Cheers!
