Sunken Cathedral

A Cocktail Recipe

In the latest episode of Amperitif, our guest brought more than just their words; they brought a symphony of inspiration that led to the creation of a bespoke cocktail. With the expertise of our mixologist and the musical prowess of our guest, a new concoction was born – one that harmonizes the flavors of rum, citrus, and a touch of sweetness, reminiscent of the black and white keys of a piano.

Drawing from the lively spirit of a Cuba Libre, our mixologist set out to craft a libation that embodied the refreshing ease of that classic cocktail. But with a twist inspired by the guest’s piano skills, the cocktail takes on a new melody, evoking the visual and auditory delight of ivory and ebony keys dancing in harmony.

At its core, this bespoke creation is rum-based, lending a depth and warmth to the drink that serves as a solid foundation for the symphony of flavors to come. Sparkling and citrusy, each sip sparkles with effervescence, awakening the palate with a lively burst of flavor.

But what truly sets this cocktail apart is the delicate sweetness that lingers on the tongue, courtesy of orgeat – an almond syrup that adds a subtle richness and complexity to the mix. Easily accessible in most shops or online, orgeat adds a layer of depth that elevates the cocktail to a crescendo of taste sensations.

For those eager to recreate this harmonious blend at home, here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Rum (choose your favorite variety for a personalized touch)
  • Citrus (freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice for a zesty kick)
  • Sparkling water (to add effervescence and lightness)
  • Orgeat syrup (for a hint of almond sweetness)
  • Ice (to keep things cool and refreshing)

Whether enjoyed while listening to the smooth melodies of jazz or sipped leisurely on a warm summer evening, this bespoke cocktail is sure to strike a chord. Cheers!
